Anyway back to today's topic...with this larger project on my mind, the bird theme continued into a bird nest inspired entry way. I added nest details with touches of turquoise.
I always have black and white images on the wall, so they got updated to spring images of trees and tulips.
Top Shelf: I used The Graphics Fairy's nest image and definition. The nest image was printed on watercolor paper and then I added some details with watercolor pencils. The nest definition was printed and then I inked around the edges for a little aged paper detail.
I continued the nest theme by adding a faux nest on moss in the glass vase. To continue the turquoise color pop, I took some old Easter Egg ornaments and sprayed them with turquoise paint, and added a very light coat of black for spots.

Shelf 2, chalk board Easter Eggs...old plastic eggs + can of Krylon Chalkboard spray paint. I added some turquoise spray paint to an old plant tin to bring some spring life to a new basket. The bunny next to the eggs found new life with some glossy white spray paint.

The third shelf has a picture from last Easter of my three kids, turned into a silhouette using Photoshop Elements. I've done lots of PSE before but never a silhouette. I followed this tutorial here from Creativelive. It was great step by step directions.
Did you get your weekend projects done? We didn't get ours even close, but we sure tried, and the rest of the entry is all ready for the big reveal once the big job gets done!
