Fairies Enter Here

We started our fairy garden when we moved into this house 3 years ago.  This will be our 4th summer of fairy gardening.  Every year a few things are added and it grows.  The garden is coming to life, but the fairies haven't returned yet this year.  Soon!

In our search for new items, I have always wanted a fairy door for our home.  Ones I have found have always been out of my "willing to spend" range or not my style.  Well, I sure did the happy dance when I found one I adored at Salvation Army!  How could any fairy lover decide to part with one???  It needed a little spruce up with some paint to better match our residence, but I can handle that for a $1.50 door.  It had a white tag, and bonus, it was white tag day too!

I think the window was glow in the dark paint, I didn't test it, but I didn't want it glowing at my front door.  So I added glazing over it.  I painted up the door to closer match our house colorings too.

We hung the door as low to the ground as we could.  It is tucked back in the corner of the entry steps, barely visible from straight on.

Fairy door looks great...Now just to tackle the other "issues" in the picture.  Repaint the urns,  spruce up the rug, someday replace that fixture.

Do you have a way for the fairies to visit your house?  My kids think the tooth fairy, and our elf on the shelf will use our new door!
