It was friday the 13th…most people cringe…Well not I. 13 is my favorite. It is the birthday of my hubby, middle child, a dear set of friends, and myself. I was married on a 13th, and had my first date with him on a 13th.
I decided to start my blog on my birthday, March 13th…And one month later on April 13th I found out I had my first feature. Here on Savvy Southern Style. I was celebrating inside all day. Found 4 little scores of furniture via garage sales and Craigslist, and painted most of the afternoon. Report cards came home with great grades. My kids even did dishes without me asking. All in all a great day….But wait it gets better. Janis from All Things Beautiful, nominated me for the Liebster Blog. 
Janis is doing great things herself. I really liked this "reverse antiqued" frame as she called it. If you aren't familiar with her, go check this out. I am honored to receive such recognition while only blogging for the last month. Thank you. I am already enjoying the networking with others tremendously, and can't wait to see where it brings us all.
Now what did I win? Well googling "Liebster Award" pulls up lots of recipients' posts about being nominated. They all say the origin is somewhat unknown, but from German descent. Well, my German with Herr Tavis years ago, "am liebsten" is the best, "ich liebe dich" is I love you, but I had to pull out the old German/English dictionary for lobster alone. Yes, I still have it. It said beloved. Google said this about the award:
"The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany. Liebster means favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to three to five more blogs of note."
I am passing the award on to three inspiring bloggers. I have learned from and been inspired by these ladies. If you haven't visited them, go do it. They've got good stuff going on!
