From Sticks to Signs

This week I will be participating in the Rochester Antique Crawl on thursday and friday.   I was honored to be asked to put some pieces out for it.  This antique crawl is a sale of a few ladies who have the greatest little antique and vintage stores set up in their garages.  Great stuff and great prices.  I scored my large birdcage for our foyer light at one of these ladies places.  My stuff will be at Country Antiques and Eclectic Decor.  More info for the sale can be found on her page.

The next few days I will highlight a few items I will be bringing to the sale.

On friday, when I was talking about making a fairy sign, Country Antiques asked if I have done any signs.  So here's a few coming with me for her to check out.

These are all kindling stick signs. I have a large box of kindling sticks.  These are all aged rough lumber.  Most are 1x1's but some are larger and some are smaller.   I made these signs in the same method I crafted my American flag.  The flag is coming with me too.

One was base painted and then glued.  One was glued and then spray painted.  Two were left all natural for the base.   Words were painted and highlighted.  Signs were distressed, stained and sealed.

I added eye hooks and hemp cording on a few, and picture hangers in the back on the others.

I still have time and sticks, so if you are local and want to see a sign with certains words or colors, just leave me a comment and I will try to get that one made and over to Country Decor.
