Front Porch Looking In

Here it is, the Prairie House.  Where my parents call home 7-8 months a year.  Where my heart still calls home though I have never lived there.

This little chair greets you on the front porch.  Pots of flowers in all sorts of containers greet you.  There are frogs and fairies hiding in amongst the decor.  Some of the flowers are the same every year, like the ones that were my grandma’s favorite, which Mom plants almost yearly.

Plants are abundant throughout the porch

This old wagon was ours growing up.  A few years ago, I wire brushed all the chippy paint off and gave it a fresh coat of red.  The table in the background was one of the first pieces of furniture I painted.

This green chair and little table was another project one time.  We painted the wicker and kept the original upholstery.

This porch is a great place for some morning coffee or an evening cocktail as long as you are wearing your bug spray.  Otherwise your bug friends will join you.  If you sit still enough in the evening you will be greeted by a much more welcome flying friend though.  Up to 10 hummingbirds at a time are highly likely!

Tomorrow I will show you the screened porch, equally as charming, no bug spray necessary.

This looks like a wonderful spot to relax! After the bug spray, of course!
