We’ve been home for a week, and I still have a few more things to share from our time at the Prairie House. So most of my artistic talents stemmed from my mom’s own talents and encouragements. But, there has been lots learned from my dad too. My dad is definitely a tinker fairy. He is always fixing, repairing, inventing, improving. He is a thrifty “engineer” by heart.
While some of his fixes or inventions may cause us to roll our eyes others are equally as impressive!
I was excited to come home with a car load of his “junk” this trip. I received lessons on his small table saw, and his air pressurized orbital sander. Both tools are now in my workshop.
He also helped me build a top for a table that is one of my next paint projects.
Near the end of every visit, he is always giving us his “junk”. He shared great stuff this time. On top of the tools, I got this great box, he repaired for me, some vintage license plates, some frames, and a whole baggie full of knobs.
He said all this stuff was fairy stuff. He was right. Goodies that will help me create some great things. Thanks Dad! I hope to do your junk proud!
