Lions, Tigers, and.....

Well this post is really Elephants, and Squirrels ...but it didn't have the same ring to it.

Ceramic animals are always an easy find at thrift stores.   I will only grab ones' that are the 50% off sticker day.  Though sometimes I find one that I just have to have.

Elephants are one of my son's favorite animals.  My mom used to have an elephant collection.  His bedroom has an elephant painted on one wall and so did his nursery.  When I found the ceramic elephant with a baby elephant it just had to come home with me.

Some primer, glossy white and tea stain glaze and the 2 elephants are back in style.

A different trip, my kids said we had to get the squirrel.  I usually curse squirrels because all they do is empty my bird feeders too fast, but I must admit this one turned out pretty cute.

I did snap one pic of him pre glaze.   Shiny and clean.  He looks great.

After glazing, I think he has a little more character and is more my style.

Amazing what some glossy paint and glaze can do!

These two are still available, though my kids would tell you otherwise.  So if you have to have one of my furry friends let me know!  The squirrel is tagged and ready to go.
